My name is Heather, I am from, and currently live in Seattle Washington. I run Easy Healthy Bread with my fiancee from our kitchen. I started this site to help you learn more about baking with whole grains. My journey to whole grains started with a love of bread. Maybe a little too much love. One Christmas I had the genius idea of making a cinnamon swirl bread to be ready for Christmas brunch. I had never tried it before, the house was too cold and the oven was already in use. Long story short the bread didn’t rise enough, and was gooey and not fluffy and ended up in the trash. Instead of giving up I spent the next few months in the bookstore trying to find books that would make my bread better. After discovering a few great books, including my favorite Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. I started with easy free form loafs made with white flour, they tasted great but I knew they were not great for everyday. Today I bake almost all of my bread with whole grains. It could be whole wheat, spelt, rye, coconut, oats or a number of other flours that are less processed.
I will be posting recipes and videos to help YOU learn how to make bread at home, with whole grains, from scratch. Its easier than you think and you don’t need a gourmet kitchen or mixer to get fantastic results.
